The Life and Times of Nathan Persad

Hi, I'm Nathan from The Persad Brothers. I write solo songs and record solo albums. I don't like to play live that much (due to a horrible combination of bastard hecklers, major nerves and a seemingly irreversible curse when it comes to even the best sound equipment) but do please check gigs page every day as I often like to play at very short notice somewhere in South London on a whim.

Another tendency is for promoter friends of mine to call me up at the very last minute to replace a cancellation and 9 times out of 10 I'd oblige, either with an improvisational trio or, if I can't get them, alone with an acoustic guitar.

You never know what I'm going to do at these shows and neither do I! I may feel brave enough to do an entire set of deeply personal original material, or I may bottle it and do nothing but the Buddy Holly, Elvis and Chuck Berry covers I love singing so much, even more than most of my own songs. Or I may throw in songs by the likes of Freddie And The Dreamers, Dave Dee or The Searchers and not deny it when people mistake them for my own! On very rare occasions I will even do a Bee Gees-On-Clive-Anderson-style walkout! But only if you're really lucky.

So give me your requests, ask me to play your party (my covers band The Hollers are very reasonable to hire and bloody entertaining) and pay me to drum on your album (again, I'm very cheap for a session man and a truly fast learner.)

But most of all, please buy my album and single. I still have hundreds of the buggers left!
